FAQs

  • What does 5oat5 mean?
    • We’re an Albuquerque, New Mexico based company and 505 (pronounced five-oh-five) is our area code – we LOVE puns!
  • Are you some big cooperation? Who is your parent company?
    • 5oat5 is owned by two ladies who really like food. We are the definition of a small business – manufacturing, research, product development, basically everything is done by just the two of us.
  • How do I contact you?
    • hello@5oat5.com
  • Why isn’t my broccoli cheddar bowl orange?
    • We’re super picky about where we source our ingredients from and the only cheese we were happy with was white cheddar. Fun fact: cheddar by default is white and any orange or yellow cheddar you find has annatto or another colorant added!
  • Savory oats are weird
    • First off, that’s not a question. Secondly, there’s no rule that says oats have to be sweet! If you’ve ever accidentally bought plain oatmeal, you know that oats by themselves are pretty plain and boring. That makes them an amazing carrier for things like spices, peppers and cheese!
  • Your ingredients say spices. What does that mean?
    • The word “spices” in the ingredients refers to actual, literal spices that you’d find in your kitchen like cumin, oregano or bay leaves. We used the word spices for brevity, not to hide any ingredients. When we formulated our recipes, we wanted everything to be as close to home made as possible. If you have any concerns, please contact us at hello@5oat5.com
  • Is your product gluten free?
  •      Yes, we use certified gluten free oats!  Also, we have vetted our supplies and ruled out any possibility of cross contamination through their packaging process.  Our current packaging is a holdover from before we were able to find gluten free oats - once used up, our cups will proudly say we're gluten free!
  • Are your oats organic?
  •       Yes, our oats are organic!
  • How spicy are your green and red chile flavors?
  •         Green chile stew is extra mild. Mushroom adovada is medium spicy.
